Blackthorn School Class Photo Spring 1963
Stephen Garforth (ex Attimore Hall / Sir Frederic Osborn School, WGC 1963 - 1969). Those who knew Steve will recall his friendly manner, distinctive sense of humour and excellent footballing skills. Steve captained Attimore's school football team for some 4 years playing at Centre Half. He was courageous and had boundless enthusiasm. He was a staunch 'gooner' (an Arsenal FC follower). Very little was heard of Steve after he left school altho contact was finally made again via Friends Reunited (he was working in the Far East) a few years ago. Unfortunately Steve sadly passed away on 20 September 2006 aged just 53 before any reunions could be arranged. With thanks to Keira Garforth for use of this image.
